Ways to Contribute |
| |
| Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) |
Since 1961, the CFC has evolved into the nation's leading workplace giving program. No other annual employee-giving program raises as much money for charity. With very few exceptions, CFC is the only authorized charitable solicitation permitted in the Federal workplace. The campaign is conducted once a year in any given agency, for a 6-week period beginning no earlier than September 1 and ending no later than December 15.
If the Federal Government currently employs you, you can give to the CFC by contributing to the #42266 Archdiocese of San Antonio Catholic Schools Endowment Fund. |

| Gifts of Cash and Securities |
Gifts of Cash
You may choose to use cash, checks, or money orders to contribute to the Catholic Schools Endowment. Generally any gift mailed within a calendar year allows those who itemize to take an income tax deduction for that year. For recording purposes, a gift of cash is considered paid on the date it is mailed or hand delivered. |
| |
Benefits of a Cash Gift
- You will find it simple and quick
- You may be able to claim a charitable income tax deduction if you itemize
- The Catholic Schools Endowment Fund makes immediate use of the gift
- You and your beneficiaries could lessen or avoid estate taxes.
|
Gifts of Securities
For gifts of stocks and bonds, a donor will be given special tax advantages. If the stock has increased in value, the donor gives the stock itself and avoids paying taxes on the increase. If the stock has decreased in value, the donor sells it and donates the proceeds in order to apply the capital loss of the value against his other income to reduce his taxes. In all cases the gift is deductible by the donor as a charitable contribution. |
| |
Benefits of donating Securities
- You have the opportunity to make a substantial stewardship offering.
- You can take charitable income tax deductions'
- You will avoid capital gains taxes
- You will experience a positive effect on your cash flow
- You and your beneficiaries could lessen estate taxes
- You will find it an excellent estate planning opportunity

| Corporate Matching Gifts |
If you work for a business that offers corporate matching gift programs, you can easily double the amount of cash contributions to the Catholic Schools Endowment Fund or the Designated Schools Endowment Fund without any additional out-of-pocket expenses.
A growing number of companies and corporations match charitable gifts made by their employees to non-profit educational organizations such as the Catholic Schools Development Office. Some companies match gifts of cash, gifts of stock, and gifts in-kind on a dollar-for-dollar basis, while others will match ratios as high as four-to-one. In any case, the value of your gift will be greatly magnified.
To initiate such a match, please obtain from your employer the matching gift form. By completing the paperwork with your employer, you easily and simply can assist the Catholic Schools Development Office with providing a quality Catholic education to all interested in receiving a Catholic education. |
